Privacy Policy

Effective 21 August 2026. This policy covers the website tdm.brainrev.app, the YouTube channel THE DECISIVE MOMENT, and the private software we use to publish to that channel.

Who we are

This site and the channel are operated by BrainRev, the sole proprietorship of Yosuke Hirayama, 1867-1 Aritamaminami-cho, Chuo-ku, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka 431-3122, Japan. For any question about this policy, write to [email protected]. We answer in English or Japanese.

What this website collects

This website has no accounts, no sign-in, no comment form and no shop. We do not ask you for your name, address, telephone number or payment details, and we have no way to receive them here.

We measure how the pages are used with Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google a record of the page you viewed, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general information about your browser and device. We see this only as aggregated statistics; we cannot identify you from it, and we do not try to.

We do not run advertising on this website, and we do not sell, rent or share what we measure here with anyone.

YouTube API Services

We publish to our own YouTube channel using our own software, which is used only by us and is not distributed, sold or made available to anyone else. That software uses YouTube API Services.

By reading this policy you are also being told that, in using YouTube API Services, we are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and that Google's own handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Whose data the software touches

Only ours. The software signs in with a single Google Account that we own, and it acts solely on the YouTube channel that belongs to us. It does not offer sign-in to anybody else, it holds no other person's Google credentials or tokens, and it does not read, collect, store or display any other user's YouTube data, subscriptions, watch history, comments or personal information.

What it stores, and for how long

WhatWhyKept for
An OAuth 2.0 token for our own Google AccountSo the software can upload to our own channel without a person signing in each timeUntil it is revoked or replaced. Held only on our own machine, readable only by the account that runs the software
The video ID and URL of each video we published, and whether its thumbnail and caption track were setSo the same video is not published twice and so missing pieces can be added laterWhile the video is on the channel
Our own channel's public counts, taken from the APITo see how the channel is doingWhile the channel exists

Nothing in that list identifies a member of the public. It is kept on our own equipment in Japan, and it is not sold, rented or passed to third parties. We do not use it for advertising and we do not combine it with data from any other source about an individual.

Revoking our access, and deleting stored data

Because the software uses only our own account, there is no third-party authorisation for anyone else to withdraw. For completeness: access granted to any application through a Google Account can be reviewed and revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When our own authorisation is revoked, the stored token stops working and is deleted from our machine.

Data we hold about a published video is deleted when the video is removed from the channel. If you believe we hold data about you and you want it deleted, write to [email protected]. We will confirm within 30 days what we hold, delete what we are not required to keep, and tell you what we deleted.

People who appear in the footage

We publish material released under a free licence or into the public domain, mainly by public agencies and from Wikimedia Commons. Before publication we obscure the faces of people caught in frame, and we check each finished video again before it goes out. We do not name anyone, we do not ask viewers to identify anyone, and our descriptions stay within what the releasing agency has itself published.

If you appear in one of our videos and you want it taken down, or a face obscured more thoroughly, write to [email protected]. Tell us the video and roughly where in it you appear. We will act on it, and we will not ask you to prove who you are beyond what is needed to find the moment you mean.

Children

This website and the channel are intended for a general adult audience. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Where data goes

Google Analytics and YouTube are operated by Google, which may process data outside Japan, including in the United States. This is described in the Google Privacy Policy. This site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request data to deliver the pages and to block abuse.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be stated plainly rather than folded into the text.
